Gum disease is a disease that affects the teeth, and is characterized by severe redness and swelling of the gums and bleeding from them during brushing, but without pain. This makes people neglect cleaning for fear of bleeding and leaving the disease because it does not hurt. This complicates matters, so the disease develops and increases and turns into inflammation of the connective tissue of the teeth.
The main cause of gum inflammation is tartar that accumulates on the teeth near the surface of the gums.
Tartar (calcium) is a bacterial plate consisting of millions of bacteria and food residues that hardens over time if the teeth are left without daily cleaning with a brush and toothpaste. Bacteria secrete a toxic substance that leads to inflammation of the gums, redness and swelling, and then bleeding during brushing or automatically in advanced cases of inflammation. It can also cause inflammation of the gums and what is around the teeth to cause bad breath.
Treatment of gum disease
Gum treatment depends primarily on daily commitment to cleaning and proper care of the mouth and teeth through:
1. Regular daily brushing with a toothbrush and a medical toothpaste designed for gum disease..
as these toothpastes contain an antibiotic for the bacteria that cause the disease, which helps to get rid of inflammation and bleeding
2. Use a special medical mouthwash (mouthwash) to treat gum
disease that contains compounds that are effective in eliminating the bacteria that cause the disease
3. Regular cleaning in a dental clinic
to get rid of the tartar and calculus that is stuck and hardened around the teeth which gives the gums a chance to heal and stick again to the surface of the teeth
Within (2-3) weeks we get rid of the blood, swelling and odor and the gums return to their natural state and size, pink in color and strongly attached to the surface of the teeth….but gum disease can easily return if the causes return again
